For classified and LTE staff:  Fiscal year 2009-10 ends June 19, 2010

Fiscal year 2010-11 begins June 20, 2010 and ends June 18, 2011

 

LTE Employees
Furlough time off is not reported on timesheets. There is no reduction in pay.
Departments are expected to reduce LTE hours by 3.188% for fiscal year 2009-10 and 3.065% for fiscal year 2010-11.

 

For WSEU and Non Represented Non Exempt Employees

You may begin taking furlough time off effective July 5, 2009
You may take furlough in two hour increments (2, 4, 6 or 8 hrs), up to a maximum of eight hours per week. This is true if you are part time or full time.

You may not take partial hours unless your furlough total includes a partial hour.

If you are part time, your furlough time off is computed based on your FTE.

If you are not scheduled to work on a mandatory furlough day you will schedule an additional floating furlough day to be taken during the fiscal year.

Your bi-weekly pay will be reduced by 3.188% for fiscal year 2009-10, and 3.065% for fiscal year 2010-11. This reduction is taken prior to state, federal and social security taxes being calculated.

The furlough reduction will not affect your Wisconsin Retirement or your years of creditable service. A combination of hours worked, paid time off and furlough time may not exceed 40 hours per week.

 

For Non Represented Exempt Employees
You may begin taking furlough time off effective July 5, 2009.

The furlough reduction will not affect your Wisconsin Retirement or years of creditable service. A combination of hours worked, paid time off and furlough time may not exceed 40 hours per week. If you take any furlough in a week, you must take a total of eight hours (adjusted by FTE).

 

For WLEA Employees
You may begin taking furlough effective August 2, 2009.
Your bi-weekly pay will be reduced by 3.463% for fiscal year 2009-10 and 3.065% for fiscal year 2010-11. This reduction is taken prior to state, federal and social security taxes being calculated.  The first reduction will show up on the paycheck you receive August 27, 2009. Staff in titles assigned to pay range 36-40 may take up to 10 hours of FTO in one week. Staff in titles assigned to pay range 36-41 may take up to 12 hours of FTO in one week. If you are part time, your furlough time off is computed based on your FTE. You may not take partial hours unless your furlough total includes a partial hour. A combination of hours worked, paid time off and furlough time may not exceed 40 hours per week. The furlough reduction will not affect your Wisconsin Retirement or years of creditable service. A combination of hours worked, paid time off and furlough time may not exceed 40 hours per week.

 

For WPEC Employees

You may begin taking furlough effective August 2, 2009.

 

For Non Exempt WPEC Employees
Employees will have bi-weekly pay will be reduced by 3.463% for fiscal year 2009-10 and 3.065% for fiscal year 2010-11. The first reduction will be effective on the paycheck you receive August 27, 2009. You may take furlough in two hour increments. Employees in pay ranges 07-04, 07-05 and 07-32 may take a maximum of 8 hours per week and employees in pay ranges 07-02, 07-03, 07-30, 07-31, and 07-33 may take a maximum of 10 hours per week. If you are part time, your furlough time off is computed based on your FTE. You may not take partial hours unless your furlough total includes a partial hour. Any furlough reduction is taken prior to state, federal or social security taxes being calculated.

For Exempt WPEC Employees

Any furlough reduction is taken prior to state, federal or social security taxes being calculated. You may take furlough in two hour increments. Employees in pay ranges 07-04, 07-05 and 07-32 may take a maximum of 8 hours per week and employees in pay ranges 07-02, 07-03, 07-30, 07-31, and 07-33 may take a maximum of 10 hours per week. If you are part time, your furlough time off is computed based on your FTE. You may not take partial hours unless your furlough total includes a partial hour. A combination of hours worked, paid time off and furlough time may not exceed 40 hours per week. If you take any furlough in a week, you must take a total of eight hours (adjusted by FTE). The furlough reduction will not affect your Wisconsin Retirement or years of creditable service.

 

Employees in the Trades Bargaining Units

For 2009-10, effective date of the Building Trades memorandum of understanding is September 13, 2009.  Therefore, dollars need to be recouped over 20 pay periods rather than 26.  The percent reduction to begin September 13, 2009 will be 3.980%.  Staff may start taking furlough time hours beginning September 13, 2009 through June 19, 2010.  Additionally, staff may substitute furlough days for vacation days used since July 6, 2009 provided NO OVERTIME was incurred during that week.   ALL 2009-10 FURLOUGH TIME HOURS MUST BE TAKEN BY JUNE 19, 2010.

  • Report when FTO is taken on the bi-weekly timesheet
  • Use and report FTO in no less than 2-hour increments 
  • No more than 8 hours of FTO may be taken in one week

For 2010-11, 26 pay periods will be available.  Therefore, the percent reduction will be 3.065% for the time period June 20, 2010 through June 18, 2011.   ALL 2010-11 FURLOUGH TIME HOURS MUST BE TAKEN BY JUNE 18, 2011.
