Carol Wilcox, Program Assistant
Carol is a 1981 UWRF graduate with an agriculture / horticulture background. She began working for the Institute as a program assistant in January 2008.
She had previously known Kelly Cain while serving on the Publicity Committee of the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust. After many years in the graphic design field, she finds the work at the Institute increasingly rewarding, as she plays a part in educating the campus, local and regional communities about the urgency and importance of living sustainably.
Having lived most of her life in rural settings, she is a nature lover at heart and through lifestyle choices, tries to be a good earth steward.
Carol, her husband Dan, and their dog Badger live on about 84 acres of land southeast of River Falls that is protected forever from development through a conservation easement. Much of that land hosts restored prairie which is enjoyed by a variety of wildlife as well as the three of them, hunters and hikers.
In her leisure time, she enjoys birdwatching, gardening, reading, cooking, fishing, traveling and spending time with friends.
